The Governors of ŷ’s College School are delighted to announce the appointment of Sarah Wright to succeed Neil Chippington as Head of ŷ’s College School from September 2025.

Sarah was the unanimous choice of the Governors at the end of a highly competitive and rigorous process which attracted a strong field of applicants.

Sarah is currently the Principal Deputy Head at Haberdashers’ Girls’ School, prior to which she was Head of the Junior School. She studied Geography and Education at Homerton College, Cambridge where her Masters was in Enquiry Based Learning. She was Captain of the University Netball Team for which she was awarded three Blues.

Sarah believes passionately in the vision and ethos of ŷ’s College School, the importance of nurturing and creating an environment in which children can be children and become their best selves in the fullest sense, whilst also delivering academic excellence.  Her educational philosophy is rooted in the foundation that emotional and social well-being, self-awareness and confidence are inextricably linked with academic progress.  She believes strongly that creativity and the importance of a broad curriculum set within a supportive community encourage children to have generosity of spirit and compassion both within and beyond the school and are integral to the delivery of her philosophy.

Lindsay Dodsworth, chair of Governors, said “We are excited that Sarah Wright will be joining ŷ’s College School as its next Head bringing a new chapter to the long history and traditions of the school and continuing to build on our outstanding reputation for the exceptional quality of education and care for each child that we provide to give them the best start on their educational journey”.
